Winners of the Second Edition of the Fundición Capa International Sculpture Competition

José Luis Calleja, Manager of Center Madrid Cosentino (representing Santiago
Alfonso, Vice President of Marketing and Communication of the Cosentino Group, Eduardo Martínez Cosentino, Commercial Director of Grupo Cosentino Iberia)

Anne Barthe, Director of the Marlborough Gallery in Madrid.

Manuel Romana, PhD Engineer, Professor at ETSI Roads, Canals and Ports and
Deputy Director of Professorship, Research and International Relations at ETSI.

David Rodríguez Caballero, Sculptor and international artist.

Elena Galicia, Sculptor of works in small, medium and monumental format.

Pablo Redondo, Sculptor and architect.

Miguel Cereceda, Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the UAM.

Raúl Fraga, Architect and Professor at ETSAM.

Antonio Valle, Sculptor and Professor at the UCM Faculty of Fine Arts.

The Secretary met on January 24, 2023 to make the selection among the 194 works presented, resulting in the following works being awarded:

• First prize: Work: “Circundo, travieso y vuelo”, author: Pedro Lindez Lindez, a reproduction of the work, maximum dimension of 1.20 meters, valued at €7,000.

• Second prize: Work: “Homage to San Juan de la Cruz” author: Juan Ramón Martín, a reproduction of the work, maximum dimension 1.00 meter, valued at €5,000.

• Third prize: Work: “Brothers”, author: Kari Lena, a reproduction of the work, maximum dimension 0.90 meter, valued at €3,000.

• Special Cosentino Award: Work: “Humo”, author: Borja Barrajón, a reproduction
of the work, made with Cosentino materials, maximum dimension 0.90 meters,
valued at €3,000.

•Accésit Capa-Cosentino: Work: “Sin título”, author: Raquel Santonja.

•Accésit Capa-Cosentino: Work: “Librería tectónica”, author: Andrés Sánchez Fernández.

•Accessit Capa-Cosentino: Work: “Cepa”, author: Adrián Carra.

The Fundición Capa with the union of the I+D+ART philosophy established the objective of this III Edition to bring innovation and new creation techniques closer to both established sculptors and those who are starting this adventure of sculpture and to be able to give them a new way of creation with the technology that Fundición Capa can bring to the 21st century.

The Capa Foundry thanks all the contestants for their effort and participation and will soon start preparing the Fourth Edition of the Fundición Capa International Sculpture Contest.
