International Sculpture Contest: IV Edition

Purpose of the contest:

The purpose of the contest is to facilitate the editing and production of the winning work in final materials.

Who can participate?

Participation is free, both national and international.

Objectives of this edition:

The Capa Foundry, with the union of the I+D+ART philosophy, establishes as the objective of this edition to bring innovation and new creation techniques closer to both established sculptors and those who are starting this adventure of sculpture and to be able to give them a new way of creation with the technology that Capa Foundry can contribute in the 21st century.

The following aspects will be considered of special interest:

Investigation
use of material
Creativity
classical technique
Technology

How do I present my sculptural proposal?

The contestant will submit their sculptural proposal via email (contest@capaesculturas.com) in pdf format that does not exceed 15 megabytes. In the same presentation, they can put any comments they deem necessary on their proposal, if necessary and, always taking into account that their name or trademark should not appear.
Very important: The author’s name may never appear in the proposal. Your full name, contact phone number and email address will appear as the name of the digital file.
Example:

The official language will be Spanish and English.

Only one proposal may be submitted that has not been awarded in any other competition.

Calendar:

Works submission period: from February 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023.
Registration is free. Trying to encourage participation and the production of ideas.

Awards:

A single prize will be awarded consisting of a reproduction of the winning work with a maximum dimension of 1.20 meters valued at 10,000 euros. And a special prize: a reproduction of the work, made with stone materials with a maximum dimension of 0.90 meters, valued at 3,000 euros.

The artist will have a month to deliver the final sketch of his work to Capa Foundry. The period of execution of the work by Capa Foundry will be 8 months from receipt of the sketch, reserving the right to modify the production period.

The jury reserves the right to make a maximum of three special mentions.

The winners and those contestants who are awarded a special mention will in turn receive an accrediting diploma, which will specify the result of their participation in the contest.

Jury

The members of the jury will have a voice and a vote when judging the projects presented. The secretary of the jury will have a voice, but no vote.
The jury will be made up of professionals of recognized prestige chosen by Capa Foundry and a representative of Capa Foundry.

Artists participating in the contest may not be part of the jury.
The jury’s decision will be final.
Confidentiality in proposals is ensured.

The jury’s decision will be recorded in a record that will be published 10 days after the decision-making meeting of the jury. The Capa Foundry will contact the winners informing them of their prize.
The recognition of prizes will take place in an official and/or virtual act on a date and place that will be announced to the participants in a timely manner.

Jury criteria:

The creativity of the idea
The conceptual and technical quality of the project.
The innovation of the proposals.
The techniques to use.

Copyright and industrial property rights

The contestant will be recognized as the author of his work, maintaining his author’s moral rights.

Capa reserves the discretionary possibility of holding one or more physical exhibitions with the winning works.

The Capa Foundry will have the original piece to be able to carry out the traveling exhibition of the winning works in the national and international spaces that the Capa Foundry deems appropriate and chooses for the dissemination and promotion of the contest and the Capa brand.

Capa reserves the right to produce a second author’s proof of the work, informing its author, that it will form part of the funds of the foundry’s collection.

By accepting these rules, the winning participants assign Capa Foundry all rights of public communication through social networks and the media.
In order to protect the moral rights of the participant, in the event of future publications, Capa Foundry will always mention the author.

Both the organizers and the promoters of the Capa Foundry contest are not responsible for claims for plagiarism that may be filed by any of the participants.

Capa Foundry reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time.

Participation in the Capa Foundry Sculpture Contest implies full acceptance of these bases, the interpretation of which corresponds to those responsible for organizing the contest.

Capa Foundry and the organizing entity I+D+ART will own a copy of the winning sculptures for exhibition and communication.
